Valentine's Cards

Ahh.. Valentine's Day. Besides Christmas, it's my favorite time to make cards. And I can't stop buying supplies! Here are a few cards I've created, besides the ones I posted a few days ago.

My Craft Room

It's so nice to have a whole room dedicated to my crafting. Before designing the room, I would google images of craft rooms and organization ideas. I would drool over custom made rooms and IKEA products, but I'm frugal and didn't want to spend a lot of dough. My suggestion to anyone beginning a craft space or room is to do it slowly. To coin a phraze- Rome wasn't built in a day. I took some ideas from images I had found and applied them to my space. I went through many organization changes before settling for what worked for me. Using a hodge-podge of  containers and garage sale book shelves, this is what my room started out like:

Over the summer last year, I had purchased an antique armoire for $15

After a lot of scraping, stripping, sanding, priming and painting, this is the finished project.

I then purchased this corner shelf for $5

Well, that mean my brown desk was unacceptable. Since it is a Sauder desk, I knew sanding it would create a problem since it's pressed wood underneath. I found a primer at Lowes that adheres to any surface- no sanding required. The paint could still scratch off easily so I applied coats of polyeurethane. The backboard is covered in a paisley patterned gift-wrap, and is also under the glass too. The glass I got for FREE- A store in a strip mall was being remodeled and they were throwing these away. I asked if I could have them! I have since added a shelf to the top I purchased for $5 but I don't have a pic of that at this time. I switch out the papers and supplies I need per season to make everything I need at my fingertips.

This past weekend, a friend's daughter came over and helped me decorate. I purchased removable stickers from the Dollar Tree and this is the final result:

 Now it's pretty, fun, and I have everything I need where I want it! I really love it, and I hope I've inspired you to create your own unique space.

Fun with Stamping

I love this heart stamp. I applied glue and glittered with black glitter so it sparkles!

Here I stamped with pink ink and added pink glitter.
